Hortencia Morales

Human Resources/Labor Relations Consultant

 

 

Hortencia was born in San Antonio, Texas and was raised in Fort Worth where she was
rooted in a civic and educationally minded community.   At 14 years of age, she moved to
Sacramento, California and performed farm labor work in the tomato fields during the
summer breaks of her high school years.  She obtained her educational degrees from
the Sacramento City College and the California State University, Sacramento where
she worked and volunteered as a student registrant and advisor.  She was also an active
member of MECHA.

In 1972, Hortencia began her public service career of 32 plus years with the State of
California working in several state agencies advancing to supervisory and personnel
program consultant.  Her experience ranges from supervisory, program management,
human resources management, training, and labor relations.  She has received numerous
training awards and certificates throughout her state service.  She recently retired from
State service and is currently a consultant and owner of a small business.
